Overview
Timitron Corporation is for an SME IV Senior System Administrator/Senior Information Assurance Analyst (SIAA SME). The Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position in Specialty Area 45 and as a condition of employment candidates will be required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2.
SIAA SME will be responsible for configuring/tuning to assigned systems to include unique IP space, troubleshoot, and maintain the collection system and systems configurations (hardware and software) to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability. SIAA SME will administer physical and virtual Linux & UNIX servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5/6/7 (RHEL5/6/7), SUSE Linux, and Enterprise Server 11/12 (SLES11/12). Consults on system applications and be able to perform remote troubleshooting as required. SIAA SME will be responsible for providing direct support for Server and Desktop support for all hardware and software issues in a highly secure environment while strictly adhering to Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). SIAA SME will be required to safely test any changes that need without affecting active settings, software, or hardware. SIAA SME will also have working knowledge in the approval process implementing Change Management policies in a Secure Operating Environment (SOE).
Minimum/Required Experience
The successful candidate will have ten (10) years of experience in Information Technology (IT) experience. Five (5) years experience in Navy Cyber Security and Network Operations is a MUST. Additional required experience includes the following:
- Five (5) years of experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or SUSE Linux.
- Five (5) years of experience administering Solaris 10/11 with zones.
- Five (5) years of administrating Windows operating systems and applications.
- Expert knowledge and expertise in the use and application of DISA STIGs.
- Expert knowledge and experience in Linux (RHEL and/or SUSE) vulnerability management and remediation.
- Expert level ability to monitor and validate system processes, data flow and alerting.
- Proficiency with Xubuntu (Security Onion)
- Proficiency in shell scripting or Perl.
- Proficiency with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, CentOS 6/7 (RHEL) Kali Linux.
- Proficiency with Guidance Encase V7, Splunk Enterprise, and Vsphere 6.
Specialized Experience
The ideal candidate will provide for the following:
- Provide hardware configuration and maintenance support for specific HW/SW.
- Provide application support for various systems tools and utilities.
- Complete assignments within given deadlines.
- Maintain system security posture, patches, STIG checklists, and remediate IAVAs and CVEs.
- Provide system administration on Red Hat, SUSE, and Solaris.
- Maintain systems patches.
- Maintain systems security posture via the implementation of Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Load and test shell scripts as provided by higher authority.
- Provide timely reports on project status and other systems administration work, as required.
- Rapidly assess network traffic, detect data anomalies, and provide detailed reporting on the same.
- Provide alert handling mitigation strategies to SME III contract personnel, PM II, and NCDOC GS staff.
- Serves as the team member to support the analysis of general network technical problems and provides recommendations and technical support in solving these problems.
- Performs cyber analysis on data collected by the network monitoring systems and provides the assessment and implementation of solutions to meet network security requirements.
- Ensure the successful performance of vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle.

Training Requirement
Personnel assigned to this position will be required to attend additional training in processes and procedures in Suffolk, VA, for a minimum of 45 days.
