Overview
Timitron Corporation is seeking to fill the role of an Engineering Technician V position in support of Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia (NSWCPD) Code 251. The successful candidate will provide engineering, scheduling, execution, oversight, maintenance, modernization and Information Technology (IT) support for U.S. Navy surface ship, Service Craft, U.S. Army, and other Department of Defense (DoD) sponsors and programs.
The successful candidate will have senior knowledge and senior hands-on experience in providing Ship Change / Alteration for the modernization of shipboard Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) systems. As an Engineering Technician V, this labor competency is responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of existing design, engineering, logistics, testing and IT systems to support ongoing surface ship program efforts at NSWCPD Program office and test facilities.
Minimum/Required Experience
This position requires the ideal candidate to work at the government client site. They will represent our firm in the role of Engineering Technician V.
The Engineering Technician V position requires the ideal candidate to have high school diploma or GED equivalent, and be a graduate of a military occupational school or schools which provided in-depth knowledge of naval shipboard systems maintenance and operation.
General Experience
Candidates MUST have five (5) years of experience in configuring and troubleshooting of shipboard HM&E, Navigation and/or Combat Systems equipment. Additional HM&E and navigation system technical engineering support requirements to the position include:
- Providing hands-on experience with copper/fiber connector installation, repair and testing;
- Provide technical assistance for resolution of system and equipment level problems and failures;
- Provide detailed ship checks for reported problems and provide recommendations and assessments for problem resolution
- Provide scheduling and installation support as necessary to effect modification, change or implementation of required engineering changes to systems and equipment;
- Provide On-Site technical support for system and equipment problem resolution in support of new development programs and current platforms; and
- Conduct shipboard condition assessments when requested.
Specialized Experience
Candidates MUST have eight (8) years full-time engineering technician experience in the operation, maintenance, installation, test and/or repair of submarine mechanical and or electrical and or electronic systems/equipment.
Candidates MUST have experience in evaluating the material condition of ship systems and implementing corrective action.
Candidates MUST have experience in hull mechanical and electrical or forward electronic systems requirements.
